Kimberly Becker joined the Office of the Provost as director of communications in July 2019. She is an award-winning communications professional with more than 15 years of experience leading integrated marketing communication initiatives in higher education. She has worked with a diverse range of audiences and across a variety of platforms.
In her current role, Becker works closely with University leadership to uniquely position and elevate the Office of the Provost by developing and executing communications goals and priorities. Becker and her team also support a range of initiatives and offices under the Provost’s purview to ensure alignment with University brand and messaging strategies.
Prior to joining the Office of the Provost, Becker served in senior communications leadership roles in the WVU Reed College of Media and School of Public Health and led alumni relations efforts at the WVU College of Business and Economics (now the John Chambers College of Business and Economics).
In addition to her work at the University, Becker has taught English in the public school systems of West Virginia and North Carolina and served as a writer, editor and project manager for a behavior management consultancy and contract agency in the energy sector.
