In December 2024, Kristen Cosner joined the Office of the Provost as communications director for academic support and services. She is responsible for directing the integrated marketing strategies, internal and external communications, and strategic messaging and outreach for several units under the Office of the Provost. Those include but are not limited to: the Center for Learning, Advising and Student Success; Office of Graduate Education and Life, the West Virginia Public Education Collaborative, WVU Press, REACH Student Success and more.
Cosner is a creative and strategic marketing and communications professional with almost a decade of experience in both the higher education and healthcare industries. She has led the creative direction, strategy and execution of comprehensive enrollment marketing campaigns, record-breaking fundraising campaigns and brand marketing initiatives.
Prior to joining the WVU Office of the Provost, Cosner served in creative and marketing leadership roles at Glenville State University and Pierpont Community and Technical College.
In addition to her experience in marketing and communications, Cosner has taught undergraduate courses in graphic design and fine arts as adjunct faculty for almost five years at Glenville State. She is also a freelance graphic designer and professional photographer.
Cosner holds an M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications from WVU and an R.B.A with a focus on graphics and digital media from Glenville State University.
