Whitney Godwin is the Director of the WVU Purpose Center. She has more than 10 years of experience working in various facets of higher education including undergraduate recruitment, student development, marketing and communications, social media strategy, and K12 outreach. Whitney is a Gallup-certified CliftonStrengths coach® where she focuses on helping students, faculty, staff, alumni and community partners identify their natural patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and develop them into strengths through a variety of lenses from the academic and career space to leadership and wellbeing. Whitney has shared her strengths knowledge locally, regionally and nationally.
Whitney is a native West Virginian and a two-time WVU alum, graduating with both degrees from the Reed College of Media. During her time at WVU, she served as a Feature Twirler for the Pride of West Virginia, the Mountaineer Marching Band.
She leads with Arranger®, Learner®, Developer®, Positivity®, and Intellection®. In her free time, she serves as a freelance replay operator for WVU Athletics and WVU’s ESPN+ partnership.
