As we learned on Wednesday, the University is strengthening its commitment to help stop the spread of COVID-19 by either shutting down or slowing down almost all on-campus activities. What a difference a week can make. In the new reality of the novel Coronavirus outbreak, we are having to make decisions and respond to evolving developments at an extraordinarily fast pace — something we are unaccustomed to in the academy.

Dear WVU Faculty:
With guidance from local and state health officials, the University has decided to suspend face-to-face instruction for the week of March 23-27 following spring break. We are moving all instruction online beginning on March 30 – with the exception of some lab courses that cannot be delivered remotely. This does not impact courses already being taught online. Those classes will continue as originally scheduled.
