Amber Brugnoli

Associate Vice President and Executive Director of the Office of Global Affairs

As the Associate Vice President and Executive Director of the Office of Global Affairs, Dr. Amber Brugnoli oversees the operations of the Office of Global Affairs, articulating and implementing the University’s vision for comprehensive internationalization.

As the senior administrator of the Office of Global Affairs, Brugnoli is a member of the University’s academic leadership team and supervise the office and its constituent units, including Education Abroad and International Student and Scholar Services, Global Portals, internal information technology services and communication. She actively engages with academic units to support international initiatives and collaborates with Enrollment Management on international recruitment initiatives. Brugnoli also serves as the WVU liaison with external international programs and opportunities and provides expertise to internal units regarding international risk management and traveler concerns.

Since 2018, Brugnoli served as assistant vice president in the Office of Global Affairs, implementing policies and procedures to ensure smoother and more efficient operating processes while navigating frequent changes in federal immigration policy.  Prior to joining the Office of Global Affairs in 2018, Brugnoli served as assistant dean for continuing legal education and assistant dean for career services at the WVU College of Law.

She holds both a law degree and a doctorate from WVU and has published and spoken in the area of post-conflict reconstruction and military detention operations. After a tour on active duty as an Air Force Judge Advocate, Brugnoli transitioned to the Reserves, where she has served for the last 12 years.
