Chris Staples was appointed Executive Director of Academic Personnel in April 2021. He has supported the Provost’s Office and academic personnel since 2016. Staples began his WVU career leading the Dual Career Program within Talent and Culture in August 2012. Prior to transitioning to higher education, he spent 12 years leading human resources and operations in the private sector.
In his role as executive director, Staples leads the faculty evaluation process for the entire University, including Health Sciences, and is responsible for processes relating to sabbatical leaves, salary enhancements, development, work/life integration and grievances.
