Fall Semester Information Coming Soon

Dear WVU Faculty and Instructors:

I hope you are continuing to stay well and are finding time to enjoy the warmer weather and sunnier days. June is just around the corner, but we will soon be addressing how we plan to reopen our campuses for the Fall semester.

On Wednesday, June 3, we will begin rolling out details about the reopening of WVU campuses, including the 2020-21 academic calendar, our plan for delivering instruction and COVID-19 related processes to support faculty. We understand you have questions and concerns about what Fall will look like, and we are doing our best to address every possible scenario.

Of course, we will only be able to reopen if we can keep our faculty, staff and students safe and healthy. This means implementing a variety of safety measures, including establishing social distancing protocols, providing personal protective equipment, reducing density in our classrooms and developing alternative methods of instruction. University administrators have been working diligently on plans and procedures addressing all of these areas – and more.

I know you are dealing with a great amount of uncertainty in your lives as we all continue to move through the COVID-19 crisis. Our goal is to provide you with as much information as possible to both dispel rumors and ease your concerns. We appreciate your patience as there are many moving parts to finalize. I feel confident that once we begin sharing details, many of your questions will be answered.

Please place your trust in us as we navigate these uncharted waters. I believe we are mapping out the best path forward for our WVU community and that, with your help and support, WVU will come out stronger in the end.

Sincerely,
