Messages from the Provost

To maintain ongoing communication with WVU campuses, Provost Reed is sending monthly messages highlighting new and ongoing initiatives that support our strategic efforts. We realize messages can get lost in inboxes, so those monthly messages also will be shared here. Check back often to stay informed!

The Office of the Provost recognizes that additional pressures related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic have impacted students in different ways. To provide students with more time to evaluate their academic performance in their courses, we are extending the deadline to withdraw from courses by two weeks. The new deadline to withdraw is December 4, 2020.

Our hope is that students will use the extra time to better inform their decision whether to complete or withdraw from a course. All students considering the withdrawal option should be aware that withdrawing from courses may negatively affect financial aid, scholarships and progression in their course of study.
