Messages from the Provost

To maintain ongoing communication with WVU campuses, Provost Reed is sending monthly messages highlighting new and ongoing initiatives that support our strategic efforts. In December 2020, President Gordon Gee issued a charge to West Virginia University to transform itself to enable the University to grow and thrive in a challenging higher-education landscape. In response, the Office of the Provost embarked on a multi-year initiative focused on enhancing and transforming the academic enterprise at WVU.

The Academic Transformation effort highlighted the need to prepare students for jobs and careers in the changing global economy, with a focus on growing and creating degree programs that are rigorous, relevant and innovative in both content and instructional delivery.
