College-Specific Questions

Below are examples of additional questions college deans' offices have added to the program review forms. They have been developed in consultation with the Provost's Office to help meet specific goals or address particular issues in a college.

  • Using data from the department’s/school’s most recent annual academic unit review, explain this program's contribution to its department’s/school's overall enrollment trend. For example, is this program the unit's largest program but also experiencing a decline in enrollment which has effected the entire unit? Is this a small but growing program that is hidden by the unit's declining enrollment in its other programs?
  • Using data from the department’s/school’s most recent annual academic unit review, describe this program's contribution to its school's student credit hour production trend.
  • Using data from the department’s/school’s most recent annual academic unit review, describe this program's contribution to its school's student-to-faculty full-time equivalent (FTE) ratio. This can be explained by using the number of dedicated faculty to the program and the number of majors in the program and comparing that to the unit's overall student-to-faculty ratio.
  • Utilizing JobsEQ to provide three-year trend data in academic awards and occupational market trends, what changes do you anticipate the program experiencing over the next three to five years? Examples may include changes to curriculum, positive or negative impacts to enrollment, changes to staffing levels associated with the program, changes to marketing and recruitment strategies, etc.
  • Provide a school-level workload plan for all faculty, mapping instructional assignments to specific courses and the programs that they serve. A template will be provided and the completed template should be uploaded here.
