Use the following to develop a proposal for a new area of emphasis.
- Associated major(s): Identify all majors in which students will be able to complete this area of emphasis as part of their program requirements.
- Rationale for new AOE: What is the evidence of need for the new AOE? What is the potential impact on enrollment for the associated major(s)? How is/are the associated major(s) aligned with the new AOE?
- Proposed curriculum offered by other academic units: Does the new AOE have any prerequisites or required courses that are taught by another academic unit?
- Additional resources needed: Are any new faculty, courses, space, or other resources necessary to deliver this new AOE?
- Course rotation plan: Describe the pattern of course offerings for all AOE required courses.
- Requirements and catalog information: New AOE initiators must work with the Office of the University Registrar to ensure that all AOE curriculum requirements are entered and adhere to institutional policies and best practices.
